Stayed in Ruidoso for a weekend and decided to try this place out. I'm so happy I did! The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was nice and cozy. Me and my boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious! The sauce and meatballs were definitely homemade. We also got a small pepperoni pizza and it was also delicious! Belia waited on us and she was a complete sweetheart. Hope to run into her again. Great service and food!
First off, this is an Italian restaurant that doesn't know anything about wine. I asked for a wine list and the waitress (who had "just started 15 minutes ago") pointed to a short, generic list on the menu: Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, etc. I asked if they were New Mexican wines, which we had tried - and were not impressed by - at a local winery. She wasn't sure and said she'd check. I told her I like dry red wine, in case that helped. She came out and recommended a wine by the bottle called "Scarlet," a red blend. No chance to try a taste but we ordered a bottle. It was barely drinkable, and I'm sorry if that's the best they have to offer. Next, the free rolls offered with butter as an appetizer were harder than bricks. They should just cut them up and use them as croutons in the salads. They were almost impossible to eat. The salads were served in very small bowls with very large pieces of lettuce. I prefer that the kitchen do most of the salad chopping before it comes to the table. The pizza we ordered came on a crust that was almost as hard as the rolls. I don't mind a crispy crust but you should be able to break off a piece easily. Usually, we can easily finish a bottle of wine between us but we left about a quarter of both the wine and the pizza. I know this is a small town and dining options are limited, but an Italian restaurant really needs a good basic dough and a general knowledge of wines. (The waitress told us it was the only place she'd ever worked where they just put her on the floor her first day with no training whatsoever.)
The food was fantastic! Our pizza was very delicious and cooked perfectly, as was our chicken Alfredo. Our server was very friendly and checked on us several times, even though it was busy. I am not from around here and i am even thinking about taking a pizza to go for the 2 1/2 hour drive! Very fresh, delicious and extremely friendly!! We will definitely be back on our next trip.
**** to your response there was only one large table being taken care of.. there was a couple and a booth.. a couple sitting across from me and I believe that was it .As for racial profiling I speak Spanish but it's NOT a primary language. I'm American citizen, born in the United States... Even though I am in fluent in other languages Spanish again is no my primary.
I had the chicken parm, the marinara is full of flavor and the linguine was perfectly cooked. And the service from entering to packing up the leftovers was so friendly and cheerful. Like I was family. Compliments from the rest of the table were, " the best Alfredo he's ever had", " the gravy for the country fried steak was so flavorful and yummy, " the atmosphere was very comfortable and clean". We definitely give it a 5 thumbs up. Coming back real soon and often.
I would like to tell you how great the food was, but after waiting 10 min And NOT being attended to.. we decided to walk out. There were only three tables occupied at the time and we still had no service. The manager (maybe owner) Decided to argue with me for my choice to leave after trying to convince me that we would have service. And this not to mention upon entry of the place they assumed we spoke Spanish. " racial profiling"
Reading the many reviews on this site it is obvious you have a problem with your Staffing .I will not return to a restaurant and I have a feeling that the ones who gave you negative reviews will not return to your restaurant either. If you want a successful place to run you must start by realizing and reading all the comments posted that there is a problem with your Staffing and possibly even your food. that I do not know, because I did not have the chance to try it.
I would not recommend that place to anyone.
Extremely unprofessional and rude.
