We rented the Honey Bear cabin and although at first it seemed nice,cozy, welcoming and eith a great view, we were in a for a surprise or more than one, actually. There were spiders in closets, bedrooms (behind and under the bed) and bathrooms. I counted at least 6 in the main closet, 15 total. When I called the main office, I spoke to Jeremy who told me they were aware of the situation and that it was due to the change in the in weather; the spiders were trying to come inside to get warm. He said they had sprayed the cabin twice in a week, but that this was a daily issue. He said there was some bug spray I can use to kill them, but that they'd be back again. I've rented cabins before, and although you expect to rough it a bit, I did not expect such a significant bug problem. We ended up leaving the cabin at night after I found a larger black spider with white spots on its back in one of the bedrooms-I didn't want to risk being bit. We booked a hotel for both nights and only returned during the day to enjoy OUTDOOR activities. We spoke to management the next morning and they offered a partial refund, which we though was fair, since we were there during the day, and they called pest control to take care of the issue. We are happy with the service and hope the issue is resolved so others can enjoy the property.
Wonderful! We stayed at Coyote Cabin 3 nights this week. The staff is very friendly.Cabin is clean, cozy & nicely decorated with everything you could possibly need. The oversized recliner couches and bed were VERY comfortable. Caught lots of fresh trout at Grindstone Lake so the gas grill outside came in handy. We have vacationed in Ruidoso every year for the last 25 years during the holidays and we will certainly always book with Cozy Cabins from now on!
We arrived at the Cozy Cabin office and were warmly welcomed. They quickly gave us our key to our cabin and a helpful map showing the fastest way to get there. When we arrived at our cabin we were pleasantly surprised with how well kept and cleaned it was. If you are planning to rent a cabin in Ruidoso I highly recommend using Cozy Cabins.
